WhatsApp launches access key support for iPhone users

WhatsApp for iPhone is joining the ranks of apps that offer support for access keys. After internal testing, Meta announced the introduction of this option for WhatsApp users on iPhone.

The innovation allows you to increase account security and provides a convenient way to access the popular messenger.

This feature has been available for Android users since last year, and now Meta is rolling it out to iOS.

To activate the passcode, users need to follow a few simple steps in their WhatsApp account settings, allowing them to use secure methods such as facial recognition or Touch ID to log in to the app instead of a traditional password.

Access key support was introduced by Apple in iOS 16, but integration with third-party apps became possible only in iOS 17.
